How do the rocket controls work?
Play in landscape orientation. Choose a city and ramp, then tap Fly. The countdown shows 3, 2, 1, then Go!: two seconds of course overview and one second approaching the car. After takeoff, use the two controls to balance your car in the air.
Fire the rear rockets to lift the nose.
Fire the front rockets to lower the nose.
Use short taps to save fuel. Both controls provide lift while helping you keep a steady angle. Aim to land wheels-down on the target pad. Open Rocket Car Landing Menu → Tips to revisit the instructions. The menu also has Cars, Cities, Ramps and Settings.
First two ramps: Beginner landing assist is on by default. Hold both controls to level the car and manage landing thrust. It helps every car, including the stronger unlocked models, without changing their maximum performance. A gentle rear-wheel touch while rolling off the crest no longer ends the flight; body and hard impacts still count as crashes.
On a keyboard: Space launches, A or ← fires the rear rockets, D or → fires the front rockets, and R retries.
Which ramp should I try next?
There are 88 courses across 11 cities, with eight courses per city drawn from 22 original ramp designs. Each city keeps its six established courses, beginning with two short lessons: Mellow has a 12 m ramp and Crescent has a 16 m ramp. Four longer 32–82 m forward courses follow, then the two new left-landing U-turn challenges.
The ramp picker shows the driving length, horizontal gap from takeoff to the near pad edge, difficulty and an advisory 1×, 2× or 3× rocket recommendation. U-ramp length measures the curved driving surface. Every car may attempt every course; a recommendation does not lock a ramp, grant a paid car or start a purchase. Aero and the other free cars provide 1× power; Ice Blue provides 2×, Midnight Gold 3×, and Dubai Gold/Platinum X 5×. Higher-power cars require shorter, carefully timed taps. Advanced and Expert courses stay manual.
Guided ramp driving is about twice as fast as before. Mid, Advanced and Premium Gold-tier cars travel the ramp 10%, 20% and 30% faster than Entry cars; these approach bonuses are separate from their existing 2×, 3× and 5× rocket/fuel performance. The new Gold tiers do not change car handling. The car settles to the same takeoff state, so airborne control and landing rules remain the same. A glowing rear booster during the ramp drive is cosmetic: it uses no fuel and grants no extra airborne thrust.
Look at the target before launching. The forward Golden Crown keeps its 82 m ramp and pad beginning 76 m beyond the crest. The U courses return to a separate pad on the LEFT, outside the ramp and starting runway. Course names, previews and the challenge label show the difference. Existing course stars and selections remain on your device.
How do U-turn backflips work?
Open Rocket Car Landing Menu → Ramps, then tap ↶ U ramps to find the new cards at positions 7 and 8. The shortcut selects a preview and scrolls it into view; Fly still starts the countdown.
- U Boomerang: a 16 m-radius curve turning through 140°, about 39 m of curved driving surface. Free 1× Aero is the recommendation.
- U Switchback: a 22 m-radius curve turning through 150°, about 58 m of curved driving surface. 2× Ice Blue is the recommendation. Every car may still try.
Climb the U, let its lip launch you back toward the LEFT, finish the backward rotation and touch down wheels-first on the bright left pad. The curve carries its turning motion into flight. Save fuel for leveling and a softer touchdown. Use short rear/front rocket taps to manage pitch and both controls for lift and leveling; stronger cars need gentler taps. The two U courses are manual, even when Beginner landing assist is on.
The camera follows the turning ramp, and a high-contrast LANDING arrow with a metre distance points toward the pad when it is offscreen. It disappears when the pad is in view or gameplay is paused. Timing varies with city wind, wet grip and car power: adjust your coast and bursts rather than expecting one identical sequence everywhere. Night mode keeps the car, ramp and landing cues bright.
One Gold wallet. Your garage.
The garage has 15 original cars. Every Entry car is free; other cars unlock permanently with Gold in your retained wallet. Gold cannot be transferred or redeemed for money, has no cash value and does not expire. Flights are free.
- Entry · Free · 1×: Aero, Comet, Orbit, Miami Vice and Paris Éclair. Aero is the starting car.
- Mid · 100 Gold · 2×: Ice Blue, red Fang S and gray Fang Y.
- Advanced · 500 Gold · 3×: Midnight Gold, navy Fang Punk, Tokyo Neon, Singapore Ion and Austin Longhorn.
- Premium · 1,000 Gold · 5×: Dubai Gold and Platinum X.
The multipliers compare rocket boost, fuel capacity, steering and stabilization with the free 1× cars. They do not promise a matching multiple of speed or flight time. All cars follow the same landing rules, and every car may attempt every course.
Open Cars to see your Gold, preview a vehicle and unlock it. Gold is deducted only when ownership is saved; an owned car cannot be purchased twice. If your balance is short, choose Buy Gold or earn more through landings. The native iPhone and iPad store offers 100, 500 or 1,000 Gold packs when available. Apple shows the localized price before confirmation; suggested US base prices are $0.99, $4.99 and $9.99. Previewing or tapping a pack does not itself charge you.
Already purchased a car under the earlier system? Your verified purchase still unlocks that matching car without Gold payment. All ten historical car products remain recognized. Use Restore purchases with the same Apple Account for legacy cars and Remove All Ads. A refunded or revoked legacy purchase loses that entitlement; separate Gold ownership is independent.
Gold and Gold-owned cars are local to your wallet. They persist across normal restarts, but Apple Restore cannot reconstruct your unspent Gold or Gold-owned cars after local data loss or on another device. There is no account or cross-device wallet sync. See progress and recovery before reinstalling.
Apple handles billing and refund requests. There is no subscription. TestFlight purchases follow Apple’s testing rules and are separate from production purchases. Buying Gold or a car does not remove ads.
Can I play offline? Where is my progress?
The installed iPhone and iPad game bundles its gameplay resources and works offline. Ads, Apple purchases and external links need a connection. No game account is required.
Gold, Gold-owned cars and claimed rewards persist locally across normal restarts. The native wallet uses protected device-local Keychain storage; the browser uses website storage. Selected cars, cities, ramps, stars and settings remain local too. App and browser progress are separate, with no game-operated cloud save or cross-device wallet service.
Deleting the app, clearing website data, losing your device or moving to another device can lose Gold and Gold-owned cars. Keychain and device-backup behavior do not provide a guaranteed recovery service. Apple Restore recovers eligible Remove All Ads and historical car purchases, not a finished consumable balance, Gold spending or local gameplay progress. Try reopening and checking connectivity before reinstalling.
Older noncash points remain stored without conversion to Gold or new awards; the old points balance is no longer displayed. A previously banked fuel bonus remains usable once. Existing course records and settings are retained.
Ads and privacy choices
The native iPhone and iPad app has no banner ads. Paced full-screen interstitials may appear only after a successfully completed ramp, when you tap Retry or Next to continue. Failed flights do not create an interstitial opportunity. Interstitial pacing requires at least three successful ramp completions since the last full-screen ad and a 120-second interval from session start or the previous full-screen ad. Watching an optional rewarded video also restarts that interval and completion count.
Ads depend on connectivity, consent status and inventory. An unavailable ad does not delay the next flight or block core gameplay. The browser game does not request native AdMob ads.
Required advertising privacy messages are handled through Google UMP. When available for an ad-supported player, open Rocket Car Landing Menu → Settings → Ad privacy to revisit privacy choices. Read our privacy policy for information about advertising providers, purchases, local game data and support messages.
Earn Gold through landings
A new retained wallet receives 25 welcome Gold once. Each course gives 5 Gold for its first successful landing and 5 more for its first perfect, five-star landing. A first perfect clear can earn both. Repeating an already claimed reward does not grant it again; changing cars does not create another course.
Previously completed courses keep their progress and do not receive first-clear backpay. Old three-star course records do not prove a five-star perfect touchdown, so the first new perfect landing can still earn its reward. There is no daily challenge or per-run Gold fee.
Ad-supported native players can optionally choose a video for 10 Gold when one is available. Only the advertising SDK’s earned result awards Gold. Skipping, dismissing before earning, failed loading or unavailable inventory grants nothing. Normal Play and Retry remain available without a video.
New videos do not award the old noncash points or new fuel bonuses. A previously banked fuel boost can still be used once on the next actual flight after its countdown. Remove All Ads owners see no rewarded-video offers and can continue earning gameplay Gold.
Remove All Ads — optional one-time purchase
Find Remove All Ads in the store or Settings. It remains a separate non-consumable Apple purchase under the existing product ID. Its US base price is $10.00; Apple shows the current localized price before confirmation. There is no subscription.
After Apple verifies current ownership, the app stops new ad requests, interstitials and optional rewarded-video offers. A full-screen ad already presented finishes normal dismissal. Previously earned Gold and Gold ownership remain; ad removal grants no Gold or cars. Historical points and an unused old fuel bonus are retained.
Use Restore purchases with the same Apple Account after reinstalling or on another supported device. Unknown ownership blocks ads until verification. A refunded or revoked Remove All Ads purchase re-enables normal ad-supported rules after verification without changing Gold or car ownership.
If checkout is unavailable, check connectivity and purchase restrictions. Do not buy again to fix a missing entitlement; restore first. Apple handles billing and refund requests. Restore does not recover the local Gold balance, Gold-owned items, stars or unused old fuel bonus.
Settings, audio and display
Open Rocket Car Landing Menu → Settings for audio, graphics, vibration and credits. Use the separate Music and Effects switches; both choices are remembered. The speaker button controls sound effects. Check your device’s media volume and tap once to allow audio playback. Music loops across menus, ramps and results: the default Hurricane Hero groove changes to the Middle East track in Dubai and the Asia track in Tokyo or Singapore, then returns to the default elsewhere. Completing a ramp plays the winning sound when effects are on.
Backgrounding, interruptions, full-screen ads and consent forms suspend audio; returning respects your settings.
Under Flight, Beginner landing assist is on by default for Mellow and Crescent, the first two ramps in each city. Hold both buttons for assisted landing thrust. Turn it off for manual flight. Single-button taps and all Advanced and Expert ramps use manual power regardless of this switch. Your choice is remembered.
Under Graphics, choose High for richer lighting or Balanced for a lighter graphics mode. Turn on Reduce motion to reduce motion and animated effects. The Vibration switch controls feedback on supported iPhones. These preferences stay on your device.
Turn your iPhone or iPad sideways to play. The portrait screen pauses the game and asks you to rotate. Use Back to menu in Settings when you are finished, then Play to return to the game.
